Education

ANNA offers unequaled educational resources to nephrology nurses for their personal and professional development. ANNA provides nurses the opportunity to earn continuing education credit through a variety of mediums, including online activities, CD-ROMs, audio conferences, chapter programs, national meetings, and print materials. Through its awards and scholarships program, ANNA offers nurses monetary support as they seek to further their education through the pursuit of baccalaureate or advanced nursing degrees.

The Continuing Education Approval Board (CEAB), a standing committee of ANNA, serves as an approval and recognition mechanism for continuing education providers. CEAB uses a peer review process for approving and awarding continuing education credit based on the policies, procedures, and criteria of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC-COA) as well as the Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing Professional Development (American Nurses Association, 2000). By overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities, CEAB helps to ensure that nephrology nurses have access to challenging, high-quality learning experiences.
