CMS Hosts Open Door Forum on ESRD Quality Incentive Program
On February 2, 2012, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) hosted an Open Door Forum on the final rule for the ESRD Quality Incentive Program (QIP) for program years 2013 and 2014. The forum will provide an overview of changes to the ESRD QIP and addressed the quality measures, scoring methodology, and payment implications of these changes. The presentation slides from the forum are available on the CMS Web site, and a replay of the forum will be made available after February 13. ANNA Announces Election Results
The results of ANNA's elections have been finalized. Norma Gomez, MBA, MSN, RN, CNN, of Russellville, TN, was elected to serve as ANNA President-Elect, and Lynda Ball, MSN, RN, CNN, of Everett, WA, was named National Secretary. Cindy Richards, BSN, RN, CNN, was elected Southeast Vice President, and Sheila Doss-McQuitty, BSN, RN, CNN, CCRA, was named Western Vice President. These individuals will serve on ANNA's 2012-2013 National Board of Directors and will assume their respective offices at the conclusion of ANNA’s 43rd National Symposium in Orlando, FL. During the elections, ANNA members also elected regional Chapters Coordinators-Elect and voted to approve revisions to ANNA’s Bylaws. Click below for additional election results.

New Resource Available for Acute Care Nurses
ANNA recently published a new resource for acute care nurses: Acute Care Hemodialysis Orientation Manual and Assessment Tools. This electronic book provides an orientation overview for the nurse new to nephrology or the veteran nephrology nurse who is mentoring a new nurse. It is generic enough to be widely applicable, yet specific enough to address the wide range of skills and knowledge for nephrology nurses across the continuum.
