Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission Appoints Two New Commissioners

PITMAN, NJ – The Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) has appointed Lori Neal, BSN, RN, CNN, and Kevin Harris, to their Board of Commissioners.
Lori Neal is a clinical support specialist for Fresenius Medical Care from Plain City, UT. Along with her background in acute therapies, outpatient settings, and management, she brings nearly 20 years of experience to the board. She has served as an item writer for the Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) exam, served as an NNCC Board member since 2016, and has held her CNN credential for 13 years. Currently, Neal is pursuing her MSN degree.


Kevin Harris is a financial advisor for Edward Jones from Deep River, CT, and is an active member of his community. He is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and serves on several professional boards. Harris will serve the NNCC Board in the 'Public Member' position.

Both Neal and Harris will serve 2-year terms. As part of fulfilling their duties as commissioners, they will work toward the organization's goal of promoting the highest standards of nephrology nursing practice through the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of all aspects of the certification and re-certification processes.

NNCC Certifications
NNCC is a certifying organization that establishes credentialing mechanisms to promote patient safety and to improve the quality of care provided to nephrology patients.

  • Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN)
  • Certified Dialysis LPN/LVN (CD-LPN/CD-LVN)
  • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN)
  • Certified Nephrology Nurse - Nurse Practitioner (CNN-NP)
  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT)
  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician - Advanced (CCHT-A)
