You are invited to participate in an important, new online survey being conducted by the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) to determine the activities performed in current nephrology nursing practice. You will be asked to select the survey for RN practice or the survey for advanced nurse practice. Everyone who completes a survey will be eligible to win one of four $100 Amazon gift certificatestwo for the RN survey and two for the APN survey. To ensure confidentiality, you will be directed to a separate site to sign up for the drawing after you complete the survey.
The Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) launched two important online surveys in Octoberone for RNs in nephrology nursing and one for advanced practice nurses in nephrology. Both surveys have the purpose of providing information about the actual practice of nephrology nurses today. The results will be used to validate the current blueprints for three NNCC examinations: Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN), Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) and Certified Nephrology Nurse Practitioner (CNN-NP).

Effective immediately computer based testing (CBT) is available for nurse practitioners applying to take the Certified Nephrology Nurse - Nurse Practitioner Exam (CNN-NP). To notify the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) please indicate "CBT" on the line marked "Exam city and state." As with all other NNCC exams, a paper/pencil version will also be available as requested.
The Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is seeking three commissioners to begin service spring 2013. NNCC commissioners must attend three commission meetings per year and the ANNA National Symposium. A commissioner serves for two years and can be renewed two times for a maximum of six consecutive years of service. Please see the About NNCC section of this site for more information on NNCC and its activities.
In the summer of 2011, the Commission members changed the work hours required to be eligible to take the CNN exam and in the work hours required for recertification for the CDN and CNN exams. As of 08-01-2012, the work hours required to be eligible to take the CNN exam have been increased to a minimum of 3000 hours working as a nephrology nurse during the three (3) years prior to submission of the exam application.
