LPNs/LVNs and Technicians Invited to Complete National Hemodialysis Technician Job Survey

NNCC testing partner, the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET), is distributing a national job analysis survey. New and experienced technicians, LPNs/LVNs, and registered nurses who are involved in their education and training are needed to complete the survey. The more who help with this process, the better the results. This survey will be very important in determining scope of practice and differentiating roles.

Changes Made for CNN-NPs

The CNN-NP Board made two new recommendations to the Commission for approval. Based on the information supplied by that Board, the Commissioners approved these important modifications. First, a change in the number of clinical hours required for CNN-NP recertification was approved. One thousand hours over 5 years will be needed; this is to be congruent with the clinical requirements for national nurse practitioner (NP) recertification.

NNCC Test Committee Opportunity

The NNCC needs CNNs and CDNs to serve on test committees. Qualifications for the position include current certification, employed in a hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis facility, and being a creative thinker yet able to follow the rules. Participants learn via on the job training under very qualified individuals. Members of the Test Committees travel two times a year (leave home Friday and return home the following Monday) with travel expenses paid by NNCC.
