NNCC testing partner, the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET), is distributing a national job analysis survey. New and experienced technicians, LPNs/LVNs, and registered nurses who are involved in their education and training are needed to complete the survey. The more who help with this process, the better the results. This survey will be very important in determining scope of practice and differentiating roles.

The CNN-NP Board made two new recommendations to the Commission for approval. Based on the information supplied by that Board, the Commissioners approved these important modifications. First, a change in the number of clinical hours required for CNN-NP recertification was approved. One thousand hours over 5 years will be needed; this is to be congruent with the clinical requirements for national nurse practitioner (NP) recertification.
The CDN and CNN exam fees are set to increase effective January 1, 2011. Since computer based testing (CBT) is more expensive to administer the increase in fees is required. That being said, the increase will not take place until January 1, 2011. The exams may be taken until that time at the current rate so act now to save money!
